Label TextCharles Miner began working with glass in the 1970s and opened his own hot shop and gallery, Tesuque Glassworks, in New Mexico in 1975. While Miner is known for blowing glass, his cast work such as Roswell Frogs also has been critically acclaimed. The sculpture depicts playful frogs exploring a saucer-shaped disc. A hovering frog protectively embraces a youngling on the verge of jumping away. The green color and the softly polished glass give the work the appearance of an ancient Asian jade sculpture.
