Levi’s interest in form, saturated colors and whimsy make his pieces favorites among collectors and admirers of art. The crisp, clean shapes and familiar iconography entice the viewer to gaze a little longer— to question the conversation between the two birds and ponder the significance of the artichoke.
David Levi received a B.F.A. in ceramics at Washington University in St. Louis and trained with designer Ann Warff and master glassblowers Jan-Erik Ritzman and Sven-Ake Carlson in Sweden in 1985. Levi served as an engineer in the final years of Steuben Glass and presently owns a production factory, IBEX Glass Studio in Washington, and set up a studio in California.
