To become part of Electrolux, one must apply to the local branch office. The company is sustained financially by the sale of vacuum cleaners. The organization was begun in 1924. It was the first vacuum-cleaner manufacturer to sell directly to the consumer. The general activities of Electrolux center on the manufacturing and selling of its vacuum cleaners. In order to better achieve this, the company has a highly charged incentive program in which luxury cars and trips to Europe are offered to salesman. There are also trophy cups awarded for a variety of sales contests. Electrolux celebrated its Golden Jubilee year in 1974. From When Two or More Are Gathered Together (1976) by Neal Slavin.
