Hollowbush was born in Philadelphia in 1850, and died young, in 1861. Silversmith Conrad Bard was active in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1825-1854. He was in the partnerships of Bard & Hoffman with Frederick Hoffman 1837-1838, Bard & Lamont with Robert Lamont until 1845, and C. Bard & Son from 1850 until his death in 1854. The mark on this cup, C. BARD 205 ARCH ST, includes the address of Bard's silver manufactory from 1839 to 1852.
