In addition to incorporating more mechanization into her firm's processes, Bateman also paid close attention to changes in taste. The urn or helmet-shaped form of this cream pot, and the engraved swags of floral garlands around the body, reflect the prevailing taste for designs inspired by ancient Greece and Rome.
