The arms are shaped and reeded on fluted and foliated baluster supports above the reeded seat rail and reeded, round-turn tapered legs ending in spade feet with castors. The three back sections are topped by a crest rail carved with drapery swags and tassels flanking be-ribboned sheaves of wheat. The carving is exquisite and full of the kind of detail that shows it was executed by one of the premiere cabinetmakers in New York.
