Eventually, she relocated to Paris, France. She was best known for using subdued hues of color and soft lighting to paint distinct portraits of her sitters. In this painting of artist Eugeniusz Dabrowa-Dabrowski (1870–1941), Boznańska repeats the tones in his jacket, shirt, and sofa in the background, blurring boundaries between parts of the composition.
