Specifically, Feight was inspired by old photographs of street scenes in Atlanta. The background of the painting derives from an old photograph of the front of a Reed’s drugstore in downtown Atlanta. The couple in the foreground creates a solid, striking contrast with the brightly colored and busy wall behind them as they wait patiently for the bus. Today, Feight lives and works in Georgia and continues his mission as the founder of The Foundation for Hospital Art, Inc., which strives to transform hospitals and care facilities around the world through the presence of artwork.
