A twice-engraved crest, of a crowing cock beneath a crown, is that of Archibald Acheson, (Irish, 1776-1849) second Earl of Gosford. Acheson was a British politician who served as Lieutenant-Governor of Lower Canada and Governor General of British North America in the 19th century.. Silversmith Paul Storr, active in London 1792 - 1838, was England's most celebrated silversmith during the Regency Period of the nineteenth century, producing much of the silver purchased by King George III and King George IV.
