He gained recognition in the Southeast for his trademark style—layered colored dots organized in tight geometric patterns over flat areas of paint. These carefully marked surfaces and interlocked forms create a sense of depth and movement. Here, Connatser includes a lightbulb beneath the warm rays of the sun, its surprising presence a humorous reminder of the two-dimensional picture plane and the fiction of art.
