He was known for appropriating objects or images from the natural world and abstracting them into ultra-simple, flat paintings that deliberately reveal almost nothing of the artist’s hand in their clean, geometric compositions. The creation of Blue/Green was the result of a collaboration between the artist and the printmaking workshop Gemini G.E.L. in 1970 on an edition of 10 lithographs.
