The artist explained: “My sculpture is a platform from which the viewer can take a ride… a flight of fancy or a journey through a vast open space, toward a feeling of freedom.” The interlocking materials protruding into space speak to the various natural and manmade environments that structure our world, such as “buildings, automobiles, machines, time, and movement.”
