Robert Lindsey WalkerAmerican, 1909 - 1996

Robert L. Walker was born in Savannah, GA and lived at 1711 E. Broad Street from 1980 until his death in December 1996. He had several known careers which included stone setter for a local monument company, and also taxi-cab driver for the sick and elderly. His obvious love of the architecture and the people of Savannah, represented in his own distinctive style, have given him a place in our Southern Art culture. His works have been purchased by major collections in New York and Atlanta, and has been accepted into Sotheby's January folk art auction.
