Thomas Bradbury & SonsBritish, Founded 1855 - 1905

Thomas Bradbury & Sons were silversmiths and Sheffield Plate makers based in Sheffield, England, founded by Thomas Bradbury (b. 1763) and active between 1795 and 1943 under various names.

Thomas Bradbury was apprenticed to Matthew Fenton & Co. in 1777 when he was fourteen. When Fenton died in 1795 the business was sold to Bradbury and Thomas Watson, and named Watson & Co. A mark for plate goods was registered at this time.

In 1831 the firm became Thomas Bradbury & Son. By 1855 his grandsons, as Thomas Bradbury & Sons, actively engaged in the manufacture of silver and plate until 1943 when the last Bradbury, Frederick, retired and sold the shop's original dies and tools to Atkin Brothers.
