Constantin GuysFrench, 1802 - 1892
French painter and caricaturist best known for his wash drawings of Parisian demimondaines. Guys was in Greece with Byron. He became an officer in the French Army and later an illustrator for the Illustrated London News. In this capacity he covered the Crimean War. Until 1856, London was his center of activity, after that he returned to Paris and began to do his witty and delicate drawings.
