Mary Comer Lane

As a child Mary Comer Lane studied art under local artist Emma Cheves Wilkins. Later, she studied with Henry Bayley Snell at summer art classes in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She was a charter member of the Savannah Art Club and served as the Club’s first president. She was actively involved in the Savannah arts community as an artist, organizer and supporter throughout her lifetime. [Cyndi Sommers, Asst. Curator]
