Robinson spent five winters taking photographs in the snow, resulting in the series Snowbound. Photographing from Colorado to New York, each scene speaks to the deadening effect of snow on a once lively landscape. Through her simple, tranquil, and deliberately composed images she explores complex philosophical issues such as the passing of time and the inevitability of change. In her artist statement, Robinson explains that “each image quietly references another season, a time of life or activity that has already passed, and may come again.”
Robinson graduated cum laude from Columbia University and holds an MFA in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She also studied with the internationally acclaimed photographer Jack Leigh.
