These young girls wait to participate in the Soldier’s Reunion Parade, which takes place in Catawba County, North Carolina each year to honor war veterans. The stated goal of the parade, beauty pageant, and other related activities is to celebrate American patriotism. Aaron Canipe, a photographer and educator based in North Carolina, humorously reveals that these events are not all fun and games as the girls involved in the beauty pageant display their boredom and impatience.
