I was naturally drawn to the work, learning first from laborers and eventually from engineers and architects,” he recalled.
Garcia relocated to Savannah to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he earned his BFA in printmaking. In this series, he maintains several core components of printmaking, such as incising lines, extracting pigment, and coating surfaces with ink and paint. Through abstraction, the artist expresses his belief that his works are never finished; they hold spiritual presence and meaning that can only be uncovered over time.
