Some include representations of blossoms open and closed to show their change in shape. They also rendered the flowers on the stems and alongside leaves to make them more easily identifiable. For the centers of the black-eyed Susans and purple coneflowers, the embroiderer used a stitch called French knot to mimic their distinctive textures. Text written for the exhibition 'Lingua Flora,' on view from June 21–September 8, 2024.
