Sherman’s troops in December 1864 during the Civil War. The maker, Horton and Rikeman (Humphrey P. Horton and Cornelius H. Rikeman,) was a firm of watchmakers, jewelers, and silversmiths that operated in partnership at 116 Broughton Street in Savannah between 1850 and 1856.
