The theme of the feminine divine is particularly evident in the work on the right, in which Gibran interprets Mother Earth as a nude figure reaching down toward the small human figures below her. Her peaceful expression and tilted head suggest a benevolent and affectionate relationship with the people who surround her and gesture toward her, seemingly for support or guidance.
