For this child's cup, an unknown maker executed repousse bouquets in a series of medallions and spandrels around its sides. Repousse work involves pushing the silver forward from the back of the material, as seen on the inside of the cup. Typically, the designs are defined further on the front with chasing and engraving, as this maker did to complete the decoration. Text written for 'Lingua Flora,' on view June 21–September 8, 2024.
