Born in Scotland, Husband traveled extensively and exhibited internationally and was part of several artist collectives in her ongoing effort to show that art has the power to subvert and liberate. After incidents of ostracization for being openly gay, Husband made public debate, sharing, and collaboration integral parts of her practice as an artist, curator, arts critic, and political advocate. Husband’s work was featured in the posthumous #art912 exhibition Walking the Horizon at Telfair Museums in 2018, and the museum acquired two works in honor of her legacy and continued importance to the Savannah art community.
