However, an online source stated that if copyright was renewed on works created after 1923, these works are protected for 95 years after creation - so that means those works are still copyright protected. Works created prior to 1923 are public domain. Some of our Gibran works were created prior to 1923. However, some of our Gibran works are later than 1923. If Gibran did not renew copyright on works created after 1923, these works fall into public domain. If the copyright was renewed (which I doubt), they are copyright protected for 95 years after they were created - which means that they are still copyright protected.
Currently, all right, title and interest in and to all Kahlil Gibran copyrights and other proprietary rights related thereto are assigned to Fundación Carso, A.C.
